Why this role matters
Autonomous AI will not become enterprise infrastructure through dashboards alone. It has to work inside the systems where consequential actions already happen: code review, deploys, infrastructure workflows, identity systems, internal tools, data operations, and agent platforms.
The Forward Deployed Engineer helps translate the authority-layer vision into working patterns inside real environments. This is not just implementation work. It is category-defining work: deciding how agentic systems should be controlled when they leave the sandbox.
What you will shape
- Integration patterns for external authorization in agentic engineering workflows.
- Developer-facing experiences that make signer boundaries feel natural instead of bolted on.
- Technical feedback loops from real customer environments into product primitives.
- Examples, demos, and reference flows that make agent authority concrete.
- The operational standard for deploying Permission Protocol into high-trust environments.
What strong candidates bring
- Strong engineering judgment in production systems.
- Experience with CI/CD, GitHub workflows, cloud infrastructure, internal tools, security, or developer platforms.
- Comfort debugging across boundaries: product, customer environment, identity, APIs, and workflow automation.
- Ability to write clearly for both engineers and decision-makers.
- Bias toward durable patterns over one-off hacks.
